Questions you may have before your visit.

What should I expect at my initial appointment?

Your initial consultation will involve an in-depth discussion about your presenting complaint including any relevant medical history; and discussing your goals of treatment. This session will also involve a physical examination, including a posture and functional movement assessment, as well as assessing any relevant joints and muscles. If indicated, an internal pelvic examination may also be required to assess the pelvic organs and pelvic floor muscles. For others, a bladder diary may be prescribed at their first session.

What should I bring to my initial appointment?

If you have a GP or specialist referral letter please bring this to the initial appointment, as well as any relevant medical reports or scans. You may also like to bring a pair of shorts to wear during the physical assessment.

Do you only treat women’s health conditions?

No. As a physiotherapist for over 15 years, I have extensive experience in treating musculoskeletal complaints, sporting injuries and I pride myself in treating the body as a ‘whole’. Everyone has a unique story to tell and an injury to one part of the body has an influence on another. I need to understand your ‘whole story’ to provide the most effective treatment plan; and resolve your presenting issue.

Will I be covered by my private health insurance?

This will be dependent on your insurance provider and your level of extras cover. Please check with your private healthcare provider prior to your appointment.
