Educate. Support. Empower.
Sophie Carroll and Alyssa Hambilton are Southern Highlands based Physiotherapists who are passionate about empowering clients to take charge of their own pelvic and musculoskeletal health.
About Sophie
Born and raised in Sydney, Sophie and her husband Ian moved to the Southern Highlands over 8 years ago. After completing her tertiary education in both Medical Science and Physiotherapy, Sophie worked in the NSW public health sector before gaining experience internationally in both the United States and England.
Throughout her career, Sophie developed a strong interest in the lumbo-pelvic-hip complex and completed extensive further training in Women’s Health Physiotherapy. Enlighten Physiotherapy was developed when Sophie recognised a need in the Southern Highlands for a clinic focused on the unique requirements of women. Enlighten offers a quality and evidence-based physiotherapy service, empowering women in the Southern Highlands community to confidently take control of their own health.

Services Provided
Pre- & Post-Natal
The female body undergoes significant hormonal and musculoskeletal changes during the childbearing years. At this exciting time of our lives, the body may experience new areas of pain or discomfort as well as other symptoms such as incontinence, diastasis recti (tummy separation) and pelvic organ prolapse. At Enlighten Physiotherapy we treat and manage a range of pelvic health and musculoskeletal conditions for the expecting and new mum.
Musculoskeletal
With a whole body dynamic assessment, Enlighten doesn’t just treat your symptoms, but aims to find the driver or cause of your problem, ensuring an accurate diagnosis and development of an individual treatment plan. The driver may not necessarily be the location of your symptoms. Clients are often surprised to learn about the connection between a pelvic floor dysfunction and lower back pain, hip impingement and even jaw and neck pain.
Pelvic Floor & Continence
Women’s Health Physiotherapists are trained to assess and treat a range of pelvic conditions. At Enlighten Physiotherapy we strive to provide a calm, supportive and nurturing environment where you can feel comfortable in discussing your pelvic health concerns for both women and men.
